Philadelphia, popularly called “Philly”, is rich in culture, food, and fun. But after working all day, Monday to Friday, the weekend becomes very special because it is the only time you get to do something exciting for yourself. It’s Friday night and you are still not sure of what you will do this weekend. Philadelphia has a lot of events to offer ranging from parties to exciting festivals. You can always start your weekend on Friday night by taking a stroll down the road into Philadelphia’s night market and get yourself some of the best cheesecake in the world. Philadelphia is home to a thriving food scene and is known for its food trucks which sometimes move and sometimes are stagnant.

Start your Saturday with a nice coffee and exquisite breakfast from a Philadelphia restaurant.  Philadelphia is a city that is rich in American history, and so you can start your Saturday by visiting the cities various tourist historical attractions. A major historical site is Independence National Historical Park which is home to Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. Apart from this you can also visit many other historical museums and landmarks. If you are a lover of art then you can also visit the Philadelphia Art Museum. It is the third Largest Art Museum in the country, and is home to some of the finest art exhibits. If you are a fan of ghost stories then another popular museum you could visit is the Eastern State Penitentiary. This is a former prison that people have claimed to be Haunted (Spooky!). Kids are not left out of the fun in Philadelphia. Visit the franklin institute or the Philadelphia Zoo which are not only fun for children, but also adults.

The sun is set, but the fun doesn’t have to stop.  For sport fans, Philadelphia host professional teams for baseball and football. But, if you are not a sports fan, you can always walk down the avenue of arts enjoy the live musical bands, various performing arts and theatre.

Sunday, usually a very calm and peaceful day, you might want to start the day with something subtle. Start by visiting the Philadelphia’s beautiful Parks and green spaces. All these parks allow you enjoy the sights, nature and sounds of Philadelphia. During the summer Spruce Street Harbor Park, Philadelphia, offers hammocks and pop-up bars. They also offer an ice-skating rink and winter wonderland in the winter. At the end of the day, it is best to end the day on a lighter note because work starts the next day.
